Our vineyards

Located in a micro-valley crossed by the river Arga, in Navarre’s Ribera Alta district, our vineyards grow on 3 types of soil at an altitude ranging from 300 to 480 meters. This allows us to grow 6 different grape varieties under optimal conditions.

Estate-owned vineyards: 230 ha.

  • 75 ha: Sauvignon blanc
  • 165 ha:
    • Merlot
    • Cabernet Sauvignon
    • Garnacha
    • Graciano
    • Syrah

At the first level —300 m to 325 m— soils are sand and silt, with the occasional pebble —the result of centuries of silting from the river Arga. These warm soils are well drained and contribute finesse and elegance to the wine. At this first level we grow mainly Merlot. There are also some plots of Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano.

At the second level —325 m to 375 m— there is a significant amount of clay, providing freshness and potency to the wines. The grape varieties planted at this level are Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Garnacha and Syrah.

The third level —375 m to 480 m— can be described as unique, thanks to a fragmented limestone bed with a depth and draining capacity that are very rare.  Here, we grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Graciano and Merlot grapes, which achieve a sensational concentration.

Each of the cultivated plots is subjected to rigorous, thorough monitoring to determine the optimal time for harvesting.

At Inurrieta we like to break new ground in creating our wines, with a certain spirit of transgression against the conventional.
